Frozen shoulder starts in the capsule, the tissue that wraps around your shoulder joint. Usually for no clear reason, the capsule becomes inflamed. Diabetes, thyroid problems and keeping your arm still after an injury all raise the risk.
As the inflammation goes on, your body lays down scar tissue in the capsule. The normally loose, stretchy capsule thickens, stiffens and shrinks, leaving the ball of your shoulder far less room to move.
Then the vicious cycle kicks in. Pain makes you protect your arm. Moving less lets the capsule tighten even more. And a tighter shoulder hurts more the next time you try.
That’s why reaching outward, lifting your arm to the side and reaching behind your back get harder month after month. Putting on a jacket, grabbing your seatbelt, fastening a bra or tucking in a shirt all become a struggle.
The good news: over time the capsule slowly loosens again, and most people get most of their movement back. But recovery can take one to three years, and it depends on what you do every day: your physio, your stretches, and keeping the shoulder moving.
Where RedRelief™ Comes In
RedRelief™ is a wearable shoulder brace that combines red light (660nm), near-infrared light (850nm), gentle heat and massage. It’s designed to work alongside your physio plan and make each part of it easier.
- Before PT or stretching: 20 minutes warms and loosens your stiff shoulder, so it guards less and moves more freely.
- After a session: it helps ease soreness, so you’re not paying for today’s progress for the next two days.
- In the evening: gentle warmth and massage help you wind down when the ache is at its worst.
Near-infrared light reaches beneath the skin into the tissue around your shoulder joint.
Research suggests red and near-infrared light may help calm inflammation and improve circulation. In clinical studies on frozen shoulder, light therapy combined with exercise reduced pain and improved shoulder function compared with placebo.
RedRelief™ doesn’t replace your physio. It’s the add-on that makes your routine easier to stick to, session after session. And the more consistently you stretch, the more movement you win back.
